| Landguard NR, Suffolk 12th September 2004 More Wryneck shots from Landguard. On this visit the bird was showing extremely well - down to 10 yards as it fed on the bank opposite the observatory, completely oblivious to the birders and cameras. |

| Landguard NR, Suffolk 13th September 2004 More Wryneck shots......! The bird showed down to a few yards this time (no converters necessary!), and the light was better for about 20 minutes, but as it clouded over, the bird correctly sensed rain and disappeared into a bush inside the compound. A couple of years ago, Wryneck was a real bogey bird for me, almost to the extent that I couldn't believe they actually existed! Now after seeing several of them, and especially this very obliging bird, Wryneck has become one of my favourite species. |

| Landguard NR, Suffolk 8th September 2004 Wryneck is a species I've wanted to photograph for sometime, but none of the four individuals I'd seen before today showed well enough (or for long enough) for me to get any shots. Fortunately this bird (my fifth ever and third this year after individuals at Walsey Hills, Norfolk and Sandwich Bay, Kent) showed very well for over 20 minutes feeding around the base of a bramble bush, allowing me to get some pleasing shots. (They don't look great because they're only low resolution files) > (right) This shot seems to have caught the bird in mid-air! |
