Pine Grosbeak
Gilston Park, Herts, 14th July
Good views of the male Pine Grosbeak were had at Gilston Park in Herts late on the afternoon of Friday 14th July. Close inspection of the bird and the photos revealed a pretty sorry looking creature, with an apparently bent leg, grotty feet and a huge lump of feathers missing from the right side of it's neck.... how it got like this is of course open to speculation....
