Isabelline Wheatear
Carmel Head, Anglesey, 23rd September '06
This Isabelline Wheatear showed reasonably well (if rather distant at times) as it fed in fields on Carmel Head, Anglesey. Eventually it flew to a nearby stone wall and I managed a few record shots as it rested and preened. A much appreciated UK tick for me after being unable to get to the two recent Landguard birds, despite them being over 300 miles nearer than this one!

All images taken with Canon EOS 20D, 500mm IS f4 lens with 1.4x or 2x converters.
These are low resolution versions, which have had to be squeezed more than I would have liked to get them to a reasonable file size.
